3/29/2006 - MMA offers GO Zone Incentives seminar April 20 in Meridian

The Mississippi Manufacturers Association, in conjunction with the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation and Butler, Snow, OMara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC, will present a free seminar to explain current GO Zone incentives Thursday, April 20, in Meridian. The half-day seminar will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Union Station, 1901 Front Street, Meridian. There is no cost to attend this seminar, but participants must register through MMA by calling (601) 948-1222 or on this Web site under “Seminars.” The Gulf Opportunity Zone Act of 2005 contains significant economic incentives to rebuild the Gulf Coast, as well as to attract new investments to the affected areas. These economic incentives are so significant that any business which is considering investing in any new, replacement or expanded operations, buildings or equipment within the GO Zone should consider how to utilize these incentives to the fullest extent possible. In Mississippi, the GO Zone includes 49 counties in Mississippi south of a diagonal line generally from Lowndes County (Columbus) to Warren County (Vicksburg).
