10/4/2005 - MMA Encourages Contributions to Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which affected much of our state and most devastatingly the Mississippi Gulf Coast region, MMA extends its deepest concern to those who have lost their homes, jobs and loved ones in this terrible tragedy. MMA encourages its members and others to contribute toward the relief efforts in any way possible.Gov. Haley Barbour’s office and the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency have set up the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund Call Center for anyone wishing to donate money, goods and services. To Donate Money Please feel free to mail in a donation or contact the Recovery Fund by phone. Please make all checks payable to The Mississippi Hurricane Relief Fund. The Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund will match your generous donations with the needs of Mississippians seeking relief from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. There is a multi-agency Staging Center to receive your bulk donations of goods. This center will be open 7 days a week/24 hours a day to receive large donations only. The Center has loading docks and is staffed to receive and unload shipments delivered by trailer trucks.
