3/10/2010 - 2010 Award for Excellence in Vocational Education
The Mississippi Manufacturers Association is now accepting applications for the MMA Award for Excellence in Vocational Education for 2010 (2009/2010 school year). Deadline for applications to be submitted is March 31, 2010. Download the application here.
Established in 1994, this award encourages, recognizes and rewards individuals who are active in advancing the vocational education process in Mississippi. The MMA Award for Excellence in Vocational Education consists of a recognition plaque, a complimentary trip to the MMA Convention in Biloxi, and a cash award.
The recipient must be a teacher, administrator, counselor, or coordinator involved in one of Mississippi’s junior high, senior high or community college vocational education programs. Participants will be judged on responses to the following:
• Accomplishments in vocational education this school year (2009-2010). • How their involvement with business, general industry or manufacturing has impacted their teaching practices. • Involvement with business, industry or manufacturers. • Involvement with vocational related student-youth clubs, activities or organizations. • A narrative telling why they should be considered for the award.
This and the accompanying entry information should be distributed to interested individuals. The completed forms must be received by the Mississippi Manufacturers Association by the end of the workday, Wednesday, March 31, 2010. More weight will be given to interaction with manufacturers.
